My dad is an engineer for CN in wisconsin. Basically, they treat their employees like any other major corporation. whatever is best for them and their profits and who cares if people lose their jobs, and what the employees think. They have the best operating ratio in the railroad world, and their employees pay for it in terms of lifestyle and reliability. The pay is the best on CN right now though with conductors here making $29 an hour (i think?). Their profit-driven attitude is killing them right now up here. Crews are so fed up with it that they seriously have no morale. I know this isn't Ft. Dodge, but I can't imagine it being too much better. CN is CN, and CN SUCKS! sorry, thats my opinion.
Hope this helps, and please ask if you have any more questions.
