Data Loss...

Postby railzfan on Sat Jul 21, 2007 10:07 pm

Hello everyone,

I am very sorry to announce that all data since June 27th has been lost, our forum host, Freeforums.org, was working on their servers last night and most of the backups corrupted, so in turn all data, this includes members, posts, photos, etc. was lost, however, the host has assured me that this will never happen again. I know that you have spent a considerable amount of time posting and I appreciate that very much, I wish there was something that I could do to get that data back, but Freeforums lost it. I am very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thank You,
Andrew Kersting

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to update you all on yesterday’s data loss:

There is no way to recover any of the posts that where made after June 30th, however, I am now able to create back-ups of the forum so this will never happen again. :) I spent a good part of last night trying to recover any part of the posts that where lost, but was unable to do so, please remember that our host lost the data, not myself. However, several members, including myself have re-posted several recent posts. I would like to thank you all for your understanding of this unfortunate event, you can now post without having to worry about any more loss, from now on there will be daily back-ups made by myself. :)

If you have any questions please feel free to post them or e-mail me at railzfan@gmail.com.

Thank you once again.

I know how those datalosses can go :P

I had a couple times that I lost a few days worth of information. I try to make weekly backups, but even then, I miss some of the pile of posts that are made every day.
